THE ENDLESS DAY
'The Endless Day', as shown above, inspired by an interview I undertook with a woman who had chronic insomnia for 9 years. (She asked not to be mentioned by name). She said that her life at that time was like "living an endless day".
The footage was taken on the same walk, at different times of the day and night, and the speed was manipulated to distort our sense of time. The sound of a metronome was added to represent the monotony of endlessly following the same path, day in, day out. The jerkiness as the camera reacts to my steps taken echos the film 'Run Lola Run'.
